This is a sequence written on the first Yamaha QY machine - the QY10 - linked to a Roland R5 drum machine. All of that data got wiped so this is from cassette. 1992. I'd been asked to produce a sound track for an amateur production of "Jonah and The Whale", and at the same time was bleeding heavily from the mouth because of a dental operation that had gone disastrously wrong. Drowning in my own blood was a very real possibility if I'd gone to sleep that night so I had to stay awake. Empathising with a harpooned whale was relatively easy at that time and this sequence was the result. The following day the ruptured pallette was treated as an emergency and a subsequent operation sealed it off, thankfully. Yuk... |
