This clever design,
drawn from an ancient and traditional source, has now been adapted
in three dimensions to produce a weatherproof
self-draining set of concrete garden tiles... Ideal for the
small patio, pond surround or even indoors as an attractive pot
planter base, they are initially available as a set of eight which
lay out to make a 20" square panel. Larger rectangles can be easily
assembled without special skills. Sculpted in wax, the master patterns
(shown below) were carefully cambered to encourage water run-off;
thus preventing ice puddle formation. The concrete tiles are cast
individually from rubber moulds and easy to handle and lay. Set
of eight tiles: four universal corners; four universal half-tiles;
